Sunroom and Conservatory Options, Additions and Design Elements

The key elements in designing your new sunroom or conservatory are the options, additions and design elements that make your new glass structure one of a kind. Get started today. Contact Bear Builders at (414) 332-2380 or via email at: info@bearbuilderssunrroms.com

Exterior Options, Additions and Design Elements

The Canterbury Conservatory line provides many exterior design elements to personalize your new conservatory. The most impressive of these is the Lantern Roof addition.

Conservatory Roof Lantern Addition The conservatory roof lantern provides a beautiful accent on the peak of your roof, allows light to flood into the interior and provides an effective means to vent your conservatory's interior on those hot summer days.

The conservatory roof
vent is another great way
to save on summer cooling costs by providing
additional air flow to your conservatory's interior.

However, the roof vent does not command the same presence
as the conservatory roof lantern. The roof is the single most important element of your new sunroom or conservatory. As the first line of defense against the elements, the roof must be strong, weather-resistant, insulated and durable. The structural elements of your glass roof remain relatively unchanged by design enhancements, but there are options to consider: Glass or Polycarbonate

While polycarbonate is a cost effective alternative glass, it does restrict the passage of light to a small extent. The glass option, however, will provide an unrestricted path for light to travel with the option to apply glass tint in order to attain the perfect balance of light and shadow.

Additional roof accents such as crestings and finials are also available for all styles of conservatory.

Interior Options, Additions and Design Elements

Once the rough construction of your conservatory or sunroom is complete, planning begins for the interior furnishings.

The materials used for the interior decor are all easy-maintenance materials, but the all-to-common white conservatory is no longer your only option. The possibilities of interior conservatory design have recently been expanded to include materials such as mahogany, rosewood, and provincial oak all without the maintenance normally associated with wood such as the need to repaint, restain, or reseal.
